The guy in the photo getting his head buzzed? Forget Stephen Colbert — that’s old news. There’s a new kid in head-shaving town that could be our very own Mayor. Yep, that’s right — if Camp Rainbow Gold pockets a cool $25K at their upcoming supercool Helpful Happy Hour event, our illustrious Mayor Dave Bieter has agreed to get his head of lustrous locks shaved by one of Camp Rainbow Gold’s campers.
The organization, which provides a respite for kids with cancer — and their families — also could use some volunteers to help with the Boise business-hosted event, held on Sept. 17 at Lake Harbor Waterfront. And, a whopping 100 percent of the proceeds will go to CRG to build a ropes course at the Camp. Go to http://digitalallied.com/ to your ticket. The evening includes dinner, entertainment, silent and live auction. Alcohol beverages will be available to purchase. Tickets are only $10 and that’ll get you dinner and entertainment by Brandon Pritchett. And let’s not forget the Bieter BONUS entertainment possibility!
Elizabeth Lizberg, the childhood and family services director for CRG says they also are looking for volunteers from around 4:30 to 9 p.m. for: registration and check-in/check-out, and for the silent and live auctions. If you would like to volunteer or add to the Shave-the-Mayor kitty, call 422-0842 or go to the Web site: http://www.camprainbowgold.org/
