No pillow fighting, but here’s a dreamy pajama party: at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, Mayor David Bieter will hand out p.j.’s and books at Davis Park Apartments, 970 N. 29th St. to low-income kids who attend a city-run after-school program.
The gifts come from the Pajama Program (http://www.pajamaprogram.org), a national non-profit that provides new pajamas and books to children in need around the world. Local volunteers will give the Mayor a hand doling out the jammies and books. They’re talking a total of 128 sets of sleepwear and books for the kids at Davis Park and three other after-school sites run by Boise Parks & Recreation.
“We are so grateful that this group has stepped up to help kids in
our programs,” said Doug Holloway, superintendent of recreation.
“These children will go to bed knowing that people in our community
care about their wellbeing.”
